So Carolyn calls her mom and they are rattling off in Spanish when all of a sudden, Carolyn looks at me and says, " a plane just flew into the World Trade Towers!"

I sort of dismissed it, because I thought those towers were super strong and nothing could hurt them! I was wrong!

Both towers came down and we were in Paris! It was totally surreal! The coffee shops were busy, the restaurants were busy, the wine bars and cafes and the clothing shops were busy. It is as nothing was happening. As the day went on, the Parisians began to look at us with that, " I am so sorry for your loss look."

Part of me is happy that we were not in New York to face the horror that so many New Yorkers were facing and part of me wished we were here.

The tragedy will always be in our memories and we pray for all of the people that lost their lives and all of their families that have been scarred for life!
