The issue of transparency in the real estate world-
I remember a few years back walking up to an agent in my office and asking her about her marketing strategy. Essentially she dressed me down a basically said, “How dare you ask me about my marketing strategies!!!”
Then I asked another agent what a particular apartment they had listed at was in contract for and they said, “Figure it out yourself!”
Well here we are a few years later, she is now an actress on Sesame Street and the other agent moved to Newark, New Jersey and we are still selling real estate and loving it.
The point of that story is that the real estate landscape has changed dramatically for buyers, sellers, renters, investors and competition.
No longer is the market a super secret. There is so much information available on the web that our customers are much more educated.
This has actually made the playing field more level and I love it.
Yes the internet has added information to the people that are involved in real estate transactions all over the world.
But remember one thing…..the internet is fantastic, but you also need the human element to be your advisor throughout the transaction.
Passion, professionalism and charisma do not translate on the web.
