One of my favorite peeps in the business is Melissa Picheny- she has a company called declutter+design and if you need someone to get your apartment looking lived in to having tha “Showtime” look and presentable for sale, she is your girl!

declutter + design is a New York City-based professional organizing and staging company that helps clients transform their home or business through the re-creation of their space.
Melissa Picheny founded declutter + design in 2004 with a mission to inspire, motivate and provide clients with simple yet timeless solutions to their organizational and spatial needs.
Living every day with less time and more stress, Melissa’s clients all have a common theme: the feeling of being "stuck" in their stuff, trapped by their environment and unable to move forward. No matter what the spatial challenge, Melissa is able to immediately uncover the potential of any space and create what she refers to as a "functionally designed" environment that’s livable, workable and stress-free.
Growing up, Melissa had a father that kept everything and a mother that threw everything away. She was left somewhere in the middle and learned to place an emotional attachment on everything she owned. One day Melissa had an incredible revelation that taught her to objectively evaluate her space and let go of what she no longer needed. Realizing the impact this had on every aspect of her life sparked Melissa’s passion to share her insights with others.
In her previous work as an Emmy-award winning producer at the YES Network she learned the positive effects an organized, efficiently designed space has on productivity and well-being. Today she devotes her creativity, compassion and organizing savvy to help clients achieve the ultimate potential of their space and move forward in their lives.
When she isn’t working one-on-one with clients, Melissa can be found leading her "How to declutter + design" workshops around New York City. Partnering with companies such as Eileen Fisher or hosted in private homes, her workshops teach the fundamentals of organization in the home and office.
