I have been in the restaurant business for 29 years and I have met good people, great people and some bad people. Our friends who own Five Points and Cook Shop (really good people) purchased Provence about 1.5 years ago and made a go of it. Unfortunately the project did not work out....As good business people, they realized the problems early on and decided to change the concept ASAP. They have redone the restaurant and renamed it...It is called 100 Acres and is located at 38 MacDougal, just south of Houston. The menu will be market driven and will change on a daily basis. We were at the opening party last night and had cheese and meat sandwiches and baby romaine spears with bacon..it was tons of fun. Vicky, the owner's brother was spinning on the ones and twos.
The restaurant opens to the public this Thursday 22nd. Say hi to Vicky and her hubby!
