Winter of Our Discontent: High Line Opening Pushed to June
When the opening date for the first section of the High Line got pushed from last fall to the end of March/beginning of April, it was a letdown, but a spring grand opening just seemed to make sense for the garden-in-the-sky. Plus, the slow dissemination of construction photos have helped to warm our souls during the frigid days. But now there is no joy in Mudville, because the Villager reports that the ribbon on the Gansevoort-to-20th portion will now be cut "by the middle of June." Adding to the heartbreak, the story is headlined "First section, and new BID, on track for High Line," meaning we thought we were getting good news. Weak. In the meantime we'll continue to stare at this picture and dream of warmer days ahead.
